met at the universities of Katowice. Began a new phase of his life. They were full of grandiose plans. In Katowice, in the late 50s of last century there were only four colleges: College of Economics, College of Education, National College of Music and Graphic Arts Division of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, which gathered about 2,400 students.

formed in 1963 in Katowice Branch of the Jagiellonian University, who in 1968 combined with the College of Teachers, creating a University of Silesia.

In 1973, the academic environment of Katowice has about 10 400 people including students of the Medical University of Rokytnice transferred and the new university - Higher School of Physical Education.

Some students of the university beyond the "great rush to knowledge" still had one thing in common - they loved to hike the mountains, learning about their beauty and looking for great adventures.

Tourism student in an organized since 1957 Silesia BWPiT Agency, as amended in 1966 to BPiT "Almatur. Katowice academia as one of the younger and less numerous, approached as Warsaw, Wroclaw, Poznan glorious tradition of Academic Travel Club already existing before the war.

more serious qualified tourism development among the students began in 1957, in which it was organized and a National Rally of Students in the Beskydy finish in the Vistula River, which focused on a few routes over 500 participants.

since 1958 are held - based on its own tourist activity - rallies nationwide in the spring, and environmental - Autumn. Since 1964, the rallies were organized and university faculty and złazy, etc. redyki

significant tourism development spawned the need for a student organization focused tourism asset. From the autumn of 1959 years held regular meetings of the most experienced group of tourists in the Student Club "Ciapek" Street. Kosciuszko in Katowice. We meet "on Wednesday" and then "on Thursday" by organizing meetings with interesting people and share your experiences with hiking and excursions. Every Saturday, packing backpacks and marched on mountain hiking routes, looking for interesting places and people. Finally, thanks to the efforts

firmly stressed that the ACT "Gronie" became the first tourist agency so strong in the academic environment of Katowice and its members created and established the following organizations as the Department of Intercollegiate PTTK in Katowice, Student and Academic Beskid Guides Mountaineering Club.

Club members had the ambition not only to move as many mountain trails as well as learn about the history of settlement, folklore and interesting people living in different mountain groups. In 1962 the annual rate in the Beskid guides, and in June 1963 after obtaining the permission of state came into existence Student Guides Beskid in Katowice. This was the first in the country near established in accordance with an agreement between the Council and the Supreme Board of the ZSP PTTK, focusing student guides Beskidian a state license. In the fourth

anniversary of the ACT "Gronie" (22 February 1965), the founding members (Janusz Gregory, Marianna Wawrzyniak-Bednorz, Peter Bednorz) offered chronicle Club, which posted a

"We and the entire Club is dedicated to chronicling the belief that it's swell descriptions will be moments of beautiful, unforgettable spent Tarnica Wierchy from the Jizera River, on the tops of all mountains in the world of beautiful and wonderful, which are meant to know it, that in the circle of their fairy-tale legend grew a friendship like ours.
There were just a few. All young people, cheerful, full of plans and zapałów. Everyone had their own world, their lives, learning and work. This is what they had in common - a passion and love for the mountains. They met at the University, on the trail, the rallies, met and created a small group which, though small, met "on Wednesday" - organized trips and Rally - finally after nearly 2 years of knowledge to set up the Academic Tourist Club "Gronie in Katowice.

Who then thought, and believed that the same people who founded the club, will it work the next 50 years and still continue. But members of the Club were the students who are studying at various universities, came from different backgrounds, then went to work in various factories, some of them changed the place of residence, some went out of the country, and yet still come together by organizing interesting events Interest.

It should be noted that members of the ACT "Gronie" created a family atmosphere in the club, which means that they are together not only to tourist events, but also in life daily.

proof of this, we are a big family, was the desire of owning your own home. For two years (1966-1968), the entire organizational effort was aimed at the Club's refurbishment, and actually build from scratch the old cottage, and so was "The House of stags' over Wilkowicami - shelter where we felt" at home ".

As a large family attended the marriage of married couples, supporters at the birth of the offspring of marriages aktowskich, helping those who find themselves in difficult situations, and the end of the discharge of those who departed from us and can now roam on other celestial mountains.

During these 50 years the club has already said goodbye to about 25 people, and the greatest loss was to depart on 25 November 2007 Janusz Kalinowski, founder and creator of ACT "Gronie" and many other travel agencies. The General Assembly took a resolution of the members of the Club on 9 February 2010, the full name of the Club will be sounded: NUDE "Gronie" them. Janusz Kalinowski in Katowice.

Umpteen exactly all members of the Club, but as far as the documents and let our memory, reconstructed in this paper a list of members of the ACT "Gronie. Please forgive me if someone skipped.

Most club members were recorded in the 60's and 70's. Then the students are primarily rushed to the Student Guides Beskid.
AKT activity in the late 70's, faded to bloom in 1980, again with the old veterans, called by some "dinosaurs". Currently, the oldest members of the ACT, they attend meetings and events tourism with their grandchildren, so we hope that the club will still exist many, many years.

has become a tradition and sumptuous festive celebration of anniversaries of the club, which come from various corners of the world's old members, and amusements, and singing until dawn is not the end.

First Great Club banquet to celebrate the 1st anniversary took place in the club house on the courts' Baildonu in Katowice on 28 February 1962

Jubilee 5-th anniversary of the Club celebrated the Club "Squares" in the dorm in Ligota . 10 Year Anniversary arranged in the club "Together" Street. French in Katowice.

50th anniversary will also be held in Wisla, but in the DW "Relax," the hawk on 5-6 March 2011, we hope that we will meet again in a very large number of project that takes us well "Foreign guests" and the beautiful words Harasimowicz line, which became the anthem of the ACT "Gronie" will be a reminder of our friendship and unforgettable hiking in the mountains in the world.

"The mountains I love everything (...) and that there is only one
wisdom - work removed from the mountains"
